Before you pick

How to choose where to show

  1. Who will be in the room?

Buyers, press, the public or other designers. Ask who is invited and whether there is a marketplace or showroom for buyers.

  2. What does the price include?

Models, hair and makeup, dressers, photos, video and tickets can all be included or extra. A lower fee can cost more once you add the rest.

  3. Can you sell on site?

A space to sell next to the runway turns attention into orders the same night. Check whether there is a fee or a commission.

  4. When does your collection need to be ready?

Fittings and garment drop-offs come before show day. Work back from those dates, not from the show.

  5. What will travel cost?

Add flights, hotel nights and shipping samples to the fee, and compare the total.
